Who/what is JobStart? 925305 Alberta
Limited, operating as Grande Cache JobStart, is a
privately-owned corporation. We have been in
operation since 2001. How do you operate?
925305 Alberta Limited presently holds two contracts,
one with
Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry,
and with Service Canada. The Government of Alberta
and the Government of Canada pay 925305 Alberta Limited
to offer their services to the community of Grande
Cache. The employees of JobStart are in no way
affiliated with either Government, and employees of the
privately-held company. What services do you offer?
What are your main objectives?

Immigration and Industry Services
- To assist eligible
participants in acquiring the skills
necessary to obtain and maintain suitable
employment
- To encourage
employer investment in training and the
hiring of unemployed Albertans.
- To match eligible
Albertans seeking work directly with
prospective employers able to provide them
with viable employment as quickly as
possible.
- To enable
employers to fill job openings and skill
shortages.
- To promote
individual responsibility for active job
search.
- To help
individuals improve their job search,
acquisition, and retention skills necessary
for successful labour market transitions.
- To promote the
rapid return of participants to the labour
force.

workers or create unfair competition through
the methods of program delivery

Service Canada
- Provide
information about government services and
programs through a combination of self-serve
tools and resources, combined with personal
assistance from trained staff, including:
- assisting clients
in finding information about government
programs and services, regardless of
jurisdiction;
- coaching clients
on the use of self-serve tools and resources
- referral of
clients to specific government departments
and agencies responsible for the programs
and services which they are interested in;
- ensure that at all
times during the posted hours of service, at
least one trained staff is available to
offer assistance to clients in finding
information about government programs and
services, and/or coaching on the use of
self-serve tools and resources
- provide services
to the public in the English language
- monitor new
government initiatives, programs, and
announcements, in
consultation with the Service Canada Centre,
in order to be aware of new developments
that may be relevant to clients;
- display the core
list of Service Canada publications and
forms in a manner that they are clearly
visible to the public, and using
furnishings, racks, shelves etc. that are
provided by the service provider;
- ensure that the
scheduled hours of service are clearly
posted on the
premises and disclosed to the Service Canada
Centre
- replenish stock of
publications and forms from Service Canada
as
required.
